SkyRoute
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
1. Who we are and what this covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Solviser India Private Limited (“Solviser”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the SkyRoute mobile application on Android and iOS, its web version, and the SkyRoute service that supports sign-in and nearby summaries (together, the “App”). We are the data fiduciary (controller) for the information described here.
Registered office: Office No. 29, Shri Krishna Complex, 1st Floor, Nani-Chirai, Kachchh, Gujarat 370201, India. Contact: support@solviser.in.
This Policy applies only to SkyRoute. Solviser's business platform has its own Privacy Policy.
2. The short version
In plain words
- SkyRoute uses your location to plan routes and warn you about traffic, closures and weather ahead.
- Your account, trips, saved places, trusted contacts and settings are stored on your phone. We do not keep a copy of them on our servers.
- To fetch routes, traffic, weather and places, the App sends locations to the map and weather providers listed below. They receive only what is needed to answer the request.
- Background location is off by default. It is used only if you turn on background road alerts.
- There are no ads, no advertising or analytics trackers, and we never sell your data.
- You can delete your data at any time in the App or by uninstalling it.
3. Information we collect and why
| Information | What it includes | Why we use it | Where it is kept |
|---|---|---|---|
| Precise location | GPS position, speed and heading while you use the App; during a live trip; and in the background only if you turn on background road alerts | Show you on the map, plan and re-route trips, scan the area around you for incidents and weather, warn about speed limits and what is ahead, and estimate arrival | Used in the moment and sent to the map, traffic and weather providers below. Trip routes and your parking spot are saved on your device. |
| Account details | Name and email. Optionally a mobile number, user type (driver, passenger), vehicle type and language. With Google sign-in, your Google account ID, name, email and profile photo link. With WhatsApp sign-in, your mobile number. With an email profile, a one-way hash of your password. | Sign you in, personalise alerts (for example vehicle-specific restrictions) and show your profile | On your device. Our server handles a sign-in request and does not store the account. |
| Trips and driving behaviour | Origin, destination, route, distance, duration, alerts received, and a drive score from harsh braking, hard acceleration, speeding and idling. Optionally a vehicle registration number you type in. | Trip history, return trips, totals and drive feedback; including the vehicle number in safety messages you choose to send | On your device (up to your last 100 trips) |
| Motion sensor data | Accelerometer readings, only while a live trip is open | Detect a likely crash and ask whether you are okay; drive-score events | Processed on your device and not stored or sent anywhere |
| Trusted contacts | Names, mobile numbers and relationships of up to five people you add | Prepare trip-sharing, check-in, arrival and SOS messages that you choose to send | On your device. Messages are sent from your own WhatsApp or SMS app. |
| Saved places, alerts and preferences | Home, work and favourite places, the alerts inbox, language, theme, fuel and EV settings, map layers and refresh interval | Remember your choices and show past alerts | On your device |
| Questions to the nearby assistant | Your question (up to 300 characters), your language, and the names, categories and distances of nearby places | Write a short spoken summary of what is around you | Sent through our server to Google Gemini to produce the answer, and not stored by us |
| Technical information | IP address and request times when the App calls our server; a masked form of your phone number or email in sign-in logs | Prevent abuse (rate limits), keep the service secure and fix faults | Rate-limit counters are held in memory only. Hosting logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider. |
We do not collect your contacts list, photos, camera, microphone recordings (in the mobile apps), health data, payment details, advertising identifiers or browsing history. SkyRoute contains no advertising SDKs and no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
4. Device permissions
The App asks for a permission only when a feature needs it, and you can change these at any time in your phone's settings.
| Permission | What we tell you on the device | If you say no |
|---|---|---|
| Location while using the App | “SkyRoute uses your location to show where you are on the route, re-route you and warn about what is ahead.” | You can still search places and view routes, weather and radar, but live re-routing, area scans and trip alerts will not work. |
| Location always / in the background | “SkyRoute uses your location in the background, only when you turn on background road alerts, to warn you about closures, heavy traffic and bad weather ahead while the phone is locked.” | Background road alerts stay off. Everything else works normally. |
| Motion & fitness (iOS) / sensors | “SkyRoute uses motion sensors during a trip to notice a crash and ask if you are okay.” | Crash detection is unavailable. |
| Notifications | Used for road alerts, trip alerts and the background-alert status notification. | Alerts appear only while the App is open. |
| Face ID / fingerprint | “Allow SkyRoute to use Face ID to unlock the app.” Matching is done by your phone; SkyRoute receives only success or failure. | App lock is unavailable. |
On Android, when background road alerts are on, the system shows a persistent notification (“SkyRoute is watching the road ahead”) for as long as background location is in use. Turn the feature off in SkyRoute Settings to stop it.
5. More about location
- When the App is open, it reads your location to scan the area around you (up to about 100 km) for incidents, closures, weather and official alerts, and to show nearby services. You can turn off the scan on opening in Settings.
- During a live trip, it uses high-accuracy location to follow your route, re-route you, and warn you about speed limits, speed breakers and what is coming next.
- In the background, only if you turn on background road alerts, it checks your position about every 200 metres or 20 seconds so it can warn you while the phone is locked.
- Location is sent to the providers in the next section to answer route, traffic, place and weather requests. We do not build a location history on our servers, and we do not share location for advertising.
6. Services that receive information
SkyRoute brings together live data from the following providers. Each one receives only what it needs to answer a request, such as a position, a place name or a route. Their own privacy policies govern what they do with it.
| Provider | Used for | Information sent |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Routes, Places, Geocoding, Maps SDK, Air Quality, Weather) | Routes and traffic, place search, nearby services, maps, air quality and weather | Locations, route start and end points, search text |
| Google Sign-In | Signing in with Google | The sign-in code; Google returns your name, email, account ID and photo link |
| Google Gemini (via our server) | Spoken “what’s around me” summaries | Your question, language and nearby place names, categories and distances |
| Meta WhatsApp Business (or Twilio Verify) | Sending your one-time sign-in code | Your mobile number and the code |
| OpenStreetMap services (Nominatim, OSRM, Overpass) | Place search, routing, road features and services along the route | Locations, route points, search text |
| TomTom | Traffic incidents and traffic flow | Locations and route area |
| OpenWeatherMap and Open-Meteo | Weather, air pollution, radar, UV and rain chance | Locations |
| NDMA SACHET (Government of India) | Official disaster and weather alerts | Area being checked |
| Apple Maps (iOS) | Map display, and directions if you choose to open them | Map area; destination if you open directions |
| Vercel | Hosting the SkyRoute server (Singapore region) | Requests to our server described above |
| Apple App Store and Google Play | App distribution and updates | Governed by your agreement with Apple or Google |
When you share a trip or send an SOS, SkyRoute opens WhatsApp or your SMS app with the message filled in. Nothing is sent until you tap send, and the message travels through that app, not through us.
SkyRoute's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
8. Consent and legal basis
We process personal data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules. We rely on your consent, given when you sign in, grant a permission or turn on a feature, and on legitimate uses permitted by law, such as responding to an emergency you raise. You can withdraw consent at any time by switching off the permission or feature, or by deleting your data. Features that depend on it will then stop working.
9. How long information is kept
- Data on your device stays there until you delete it, sign out and remove it, or uninstall the App.
- The App keeps at most your last 100 trips and 200 alerts. Cached route and area scans expire after about 24 hours.
- A WhatsApp sign-in session is valid for 30 days on your device.
- Our server keeps no account, trip or location records. Rate-limit counters exist only in memory and reset automatically.
- Hosting and security logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period and then deleted automatically.
- Providers listed above keep request data according to their own policies.
10. Security
Connections between the App, our server and providers use HTTPS encryption. Passwords for email profiles are stored only as a salted one-way hash (PBKDF2), and sign-in tokens are signed. You can add a Face ID or fingerprint lock to the App. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your phone locked and up to date. If we learn of a breach affecting you, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
11. Your choices and rights
You can:
- see and edit your profile, trips, places and contacts in the App;
- turn off location, background alerts, motion or notifications at any time;
- delete your account and data. See how to delete your SkyRoute data;
- withdraw consent, ask for correction or erasure, or nominate someone to act for you, as the DPDP Act allows; and
- raise a grievance with us, and if it is not resolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
Email support@solviser.in with the subject “SkyRoute privacy request”. We reply within 30 days. Because most data is only on your device, we may not be able to see or retrieve it for you; deleting it in the App removes it.
12. Children
SkyRoute is meant for people aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. Features such as the “children aboard” trip setting and child helpline numbers are for adults travelling with children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact support@solviser.in and we will delete it.
13. Where information is processed
Our server runs in Singapore. Map, weather, sign-in and AI providers may process requests in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. Where information leaves India, we rely on these providers' contractual and security safeguards, and we do not transfer data to any country the Government of India restricts.
14. Changes to this Policy
If SkyRoute's features or providers change, we will update this Policy and the “Last updated” date. For significant changes, especially new kinds of data, we will tell you in the App and ask for consent where required.
